LYN GENTRY ORIGINALS

After a slow start to 2026 (me, not the bags!) village markets have continued to boost my confidence in my brand. A huge THANK YOU to everyone, shoppers and traders alike, who show such delight in my bags, it's a wonder my head gets out through the door at the end of each market 🤗

Thank you to everyone who looked at my bags and for the feedback that is helping me improve my designs and create new ones.

Of course, THANK YOU to everyone who purchased a bag or commissioned a bag to get exactly what you wanted.

Yes, I do take ‘no obligation’ commissions 😉, ask me for details.

I have paused markets for a few weeks in order to concentrate my efforts on those outstanding requests. If you have been patiently waiting, thank you, the wait may soon be over.

Market stalls will resume and I will post the dates and times of these on insta @lyngentryoriginals a week or so in advance, as usual.

Renting space in The Craft Shelf in St Neots has been a great way to display some of my makes, especially the smaller items. I continue try out new shapes and colours here. This fabulous little shop is full of the most amazing handcrafted pieces. It showcases crafters’ skills that will delight you and perhaps inspire you, too.

Pleases visit if can.

You will be ‘WOW'd by the skills of locals makers, also, the variety of products on offer.

May 2026 update

Hi, this me, Lyn Gentry

I have always been a bit 'arty crafty', trying out new things but never quite finding ‘my thing’.

In August 2023 I attended a small class to make a haversack with canvas and leather. That day I fell in love with leather. Thank you @justincapp

Within a few weeks I had sourced the most amazingly tactile lamb skins and set to work with a new needle in my domestic sewing machine, testing it to its limits. I considered shapes I like and made my first bag using the skills and tips picked up on that day with Justin.

Slowly, I have created a few patterns of my own, planned on graph paper, glued to cereal box cardboard! Each of my basic designs has variants. No two bags are the same and the insides are a surprise, too!

Encouraged by family and friends, I sold my first bag from a craft stall in May 2025.

One year on, I continue to love designing, making and selling my bags. I am producing some other items, too, bag accessories, key rings, glasses cases, slip cases for electronic devices, journals…

At last, I have found ‘my thing’. ❤️

You will find us at village craft markets in and around Cambridgeshire
